In 2013, I began work on a Prometheus fan edit called “Maculate Conception.” It was a complete overhaul of the film, cutting out material, rerouting scenes, and swapping the the original OST for music from 1970s and ’80s horror movies. This was a lot of work, and I go into further detail about the BTS on my horror blog. Also, you can read the original changelog on FanEdit.org.
Details about my status as a Prometheus and Alien: Covenant fan can be read on my blog post, “Outlier Love: Enjoying Prometheus/Covenant in the Shadow of Aliens.”
Disclaimer: This fan-edit is transformative in nature and falls under Fair Use. That being said, it was made by me, and is in no way affiliated with nor endorsed by FOX (who owned the Alien franchise at the time). It does not represent Ridley’s view of the film, but my own and what I envisioned Prometheus should be. This is fan edit is not for resale, is being provided for educational and critical purposes only.
With that outta the way, here’s the link to Maculate Conception. Don’t download the movie unless you already own a copy of the original Prometheus. Support the original creators and their work.
In case you don’t want to sit through the whole fan edit, I’ve provided the introduction as a sample clip:
